We were glad, when we heard
said that the British people
would never forget this coura-
geours effort of the Faroese fis-
hermen in those perilous days.
But to day we must regret
that the situation has reversed.
We do not feel so very comfor-
table.
To day the Faroese fisher-
men are the only foreign fisher-
men who are subjected to re-
strictions when landing their
fish in British harbours. This
indeed very regreitable state of
affairs must be due to some mis
understanding.
It is said, that Her Majesty's
Government strictly speaking.

with these restrictions on Faroe

during those perilous days of
war is a treasure to the Faroese
people. And it is my deep de-
sire that this mutual sympathy
between our peoples shall con-
tinue and strenghten and never
be broken.
We have shared and share,
and Í am sure we will also in
the future share the same faith,
because we are neighbours in
geography and are democratic
loving peoples and stand for
the same ideals of freedom.
It is my sincere hope that
you have enjoyed the couple of
days you have stayed here al-
ready and that the weather will
be fine, so you may see so
