But let us offer you a few friendly words of advice before you come to the Faroes: Here the 200-year-old motto “Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité” does not apply. We are somewhat behind in taking the working class into consideration. Here workers do not have equal rights, nor equal pay or the same job security. This should not deter you from coming to work. Just bear it in mind when you are standing next to us in the factory, on deck at sea, or sitting at our table. In the minds of Faroese legislators some workers are more equal than others.
